Our awesome third and fourth grade crews each went on an overnight camping tri[p in September. Camping and hiking are important components of our adventure program led by Mr. Travis.
These students are fearless campers with all the grit.
In the words of Mrs. Holli Lusk, crew leader, " It was a fantastic experience. These kids are an incredible group of humans and I am so proud of them every day for their grit and determination. They all pushed themselves to the max on the hike, supported each other in camp, and worked like a true crew to break down camp and get back to school. I also can’t speak highly enough of our chaperones. They showed care for all of the students and really helped elevate this adventure. I’m beyond grateful and so proud of this crew! "
A handful of students shared their favorite parts of their camping adventure.
Bella, a third grader, said, "I'm proud of myself for getting up after I 'falled'. My favorite part was the marshmallows and going to sleep."
Another third grade student said, "I really liked the hike because it was super far and I really like hiking."
Third grade, Cora, said, "I had a lot of fun and my favorite part was making smores, and my hike was another favorite part"
Belle, a third grader said, "The hike was hard, but very fun. It was my favorite part."
Ramsey, fourth grade, said, "The hike was beautiful. After we went, I kept begging my parents to go again."
Tony, also in fourth grade described his hike as "very noisy, a lot of chipmunks, acorns falling to the ground. It got really cold."
